On Mar. 7 four Vian High School students traveled to different locations to participate in the Oklahoma Heritage Scholarship Competition. This competition is available to students in the 9th through 12th grade and requires them to travel to one of the 13 testing sites on a particular Saturday and take a test over Oklahoma history. Students with high scores in each county receive a $1,000 cash scholarship or tuition grant to an Oklahoma college or university. Vian FFA has been hard at work these past few weeks. They recently competed at two land judging events and took home some trophies afterwards. The first contest they competed at was the OSU Interscholastics competition in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. There the senior team consisting of James Cordray, Hayden Arnold, Chase New, and Nathan Roberts won first place team overall in the land judging division. Members of the Vian High School and Middle School Technology Student Association chapters attended the Technology Student Association (TSA) State Conference at the Reed Convention Center in Midwest City on April 6-9, 2015. The theme was "Glowing With Leadership" and o ver 850 students from 43 different schools were in attendance.
