The Vian High School Basketball Homecoming Coronation was well attended on Tuesday, January 10. The homecoming court consisted of ninth grade attendant and escort: Nese Walters and Ashton Vickers, tenth grade attendant and escort: Erica Casey and Trevon Taylor, eleventh grade attendant and escort: Joehanna Morris and Shane Ross, twelfth grade attendants and escorts: Chelsie Drew and Jay Jones, and Whitney Miller and Dalton Gold. Flower girl Akeelah Truitt was ecorted by crown bearer Striker Fields. Whitney Miller was crowned homecoming queen. Congratulations, Whitney!
After Kainyn Childress' beautiful rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner," the crowd watched the Wolverines defeat the Hulbert Riders in an exciting game. Unfortunately, the girls did not win, but they were strong competition for the Lady Riders.
The student body prepared for the basketball homecoming by participating in a door decorating contest sponsored by the cheerleaders. There were many creative doors, but the winners were Mr. Eubanks' 2nd hour Algebra II students.
